LESSON OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the online Cross Road Ventura Traffic School course are to provide 340 minutes of safety related instruction to reduce traffic collision involvement, traffic law violations and to reemphasize the responsibilities associated with operating a vehicle. This will all culminate in a 25-question exam. A score of 70% or better will be needed to pass.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Upon registration, attendees are required to complete all 11 lessons. To pass the final exam, students will need to be present mentally. After passing the final exam(s), students MUST click on the “Submit to Court & DMV” button on the exam results page. There is a button at the top of the page and one at the bottom just so students will not miss it. Clicking on this button takes students to a DMV REQUIRED course evaluation that MUST be completed at that moment. Students will not be able to re-enter the course to complete it IF they close out of the browser. Once completed, Cross Road Ventura Traffic School will receive an email notification.

At minimum the student’s name is required on the survey, but it does not have to be completed. Afterwards, the student can return to their profile page to print their certificate.

Cross Road Ventura Traffic School will employ the use of short videos and charts to supplement the instruction. Since student participation is required, there will be quizzes at the end of each chapter lesson. A passing score of 70% will be needed to progress forward. Quiz questions will not appear on the final exam(s), nor will correct answers be given for incorrectly answered quiz questions. This feature encourages the student to read through the course content instead of just randomly answering the questions. However, if you would like to know the answers to those quiz questions you missed, please reach out to us. Verification questions will also require students to input information that was required upon registration to progress forward. If this information is incorrect, the student will not be able to move forward.

Students are required to complete all 11 lessons and pass the quizzes at the end of each lesson. Students will not be allowed to proceed through the course until all previous lessons have been completed and the quizzes passed.  This program is a self-paced 8-hour DMV approved course. It does not have to be completed in one sitting. And though the course is designed to take 8 hours, some students may complete it in less time.

Again, to successfully pass this course, the student must participate by being mentally present.  There is a lot of information provided, so getting rid of all distractions and being present mentally will be beneficial.  After completing all 11 lessons, a final exam will be provided. The 25-question exam is not timed; however, students must pass the exam with a score of at least 70%.  After passing the final exam, a course evaluation will be provided. See above reference to DMV REQUIRED course evaluation. If the student chooses not to complete the course evaluation, the student shall satisfy the requirement by typing his/her name in the name field and then submitting. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT IF THE COURSE EVALUATION IS NOT COMPLETED & SUBMITTED PRIOR TO EXITING THE COURSE, THE STUDENT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RE-ENTER THE COURSE TO COMPLETE IT. The course evaluation IS THE ONLY NOTICE CROSS ROAD VENTURA TRAFFIC SCHOOL RECEIVES REGARDING COURSE COMPLETION.

In the event the first exam is not passed with at least a 70%, a second exam will be given that same day. Again, it is not timed. However, it is not the same exam as the first one. If this second exam is passed, then the course evaluation will be provided.

After the exam(s) have been passed and the course evaluation completed, the student will be provided with their course completion certificate back on their profile page. Cross Road Ventura Traffic School will notify the DMV/Courts of successful completion. Course completion shall not be made contingent on the purchase of any product.

If for some reason the second exam is not passed, the student is allowed to repeat this program, OR another program of their choosing. Please refer to the school list provided by the court or visit TrafficSchoolList.com for other approved traffic school options.

Drivers with a commercial driver’s license must call the Mandatory Actions Unit at the DMV in Sacramento after completing traffic school to ensure that the DMV does not assess the point against their record. They can be reached at (916) 657-6525. THIS STEP MUST BE COMPLETED AFTER SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THIS COURSE. An email can also be sent to [email protected]. This email should include proof of completion certificate, driver’s license/identification(DL/ID) number and a contact phone number.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Students must complete the course by their assigned due date. Cross Road Ventura Traffic School does not send out reminders. Cross Road Ventura Traffic School will not issue refunds for those students who fail to complete the course by their assigned due date. Cross Road Ventura Traffic School does not issue refunds for students who were not eligible for traffic school. Cross Road Ventura Traffic School will charge an additional $20 – $40 fee for any resubmissions of course completions; for having to contact the court on behalf of the student for any errors the student may have made and for failure to submit the completed course (See above reference to DMV REQUIRED course evaluation) resulting in a bail forfeiture.

This course is not intended as training from a licensed driving school. It does not meet the standards, training, or requirements in preparation for being issued a driver license. This course has been reviewed and approved to meet the requirements for the traffic violator school program. SHOULD I BE ATTENDING TRAFFIC SCHOOL?

Hello,

If you are taking this online course, you have been directed by the courts to attend traffic school either online, in a classroom setting, or using a home study program to mask a one-point violation. However, not all courts will allow participation in a traffic school program.

Violations with a two-point count will not be masked. A second attendance to traffic school within 18 months of a prior attendance will not have the violation masked. A student with a Commercial Driver license (cited in their commercial vehicle) will not have the violation masked.

PLEASE BE SURE you have contacted the court which issued your violation, to make sure traffic school is for you. Though you will learn some things of value from this course, you want to make sure it will do what you intend it to do, and that is to mask that point.

One last thing, make sure you have taken care of your court fees PRIOR to completing our course. If the court receives your traffic school completion BEFORE they have received your payment, they may reject your completion UNTIL they have received their payment (See statement above regarding court and DMV re-submissions).

If you are ready to move forward, then let’s go. First, here is a link to the current California Driver Handbook. You may want to reference it.
