THE TECHNICALLY CHALLENGED

We do not offer technical support over the phone or otherwise. However, in an effort not to alienate this community of users we will now offer to sign you up right over the phone. We will get you registered; your account activated, send you your login credentials, and make sure you can sign in/out.

This option is for you IF: You’ve tried signing up by yourself but didn’t know how to return to the website to login OR you’re not sure what website you signed up on OR we’ve already had 2 or more 15-minute phone conversations OR you don’t know how to retrieve/access your emails, and lastly, you don’t have an email account.

If you don’t have a Gen Z-er nearby to assist, or our classroom / one-on-one options do not work for you, this option may be the perfect fit. In addition to our registration fee of $55, we will charge an additional $20 to get you set up and on your way. You’re on your own after that.

Frequently Asked Questions

MY TICKET IS EXPENSIVE. 😲 CAN I GET A FINE REDUCTION?

If you can’t afford to pay for your traffic ticket, go to the MyCitations page and request a fine reduction.

NOTE!!! Do not use MyCitations if you want to ask for traffic school as well as pay your ticket. Contact the court first about traffic school and lowering your fine. And do not use it if you want to contest (fight) the ticket. You can always ask for a lower fine at your trial if the judge decides you’re guilty.

I THOUGHT I PAID YOU FOR TRAFFIC SCHOOL?? 🤔

Do not attend traffic school unless you are eligible and have paid your fine and nonrefundable traffic school fees to the Court.

Once you have paid your fine and nonrefundable traffic school fees, you will have six weeks to attend an approved traffic school. If there are any correctable violations on your citation, the corrections must be received along with your fine and fees before permission to attend traffic school will be granted. Traffic schools will charge an additional fee to enroll. You must complete traffic school on or before the due date that you will receive when you pay your traffic school fee to the court. If you pay your traffic school fees by mail, you will receive a second notice that includes the date by which you must complete traffic school. If you pay via our web site, your due date will be reflected on the screen as soon as your payment is processed. (Superior Court of California, Ventura County, 2022)

HOW WILL I KNOW YOU SUBMITTED MY COURSE COMPLETION TO THE COURT? 🤔

Once you have successfully completed the course, we will send you (not your court) a follow up email confirming submission to your Court & the DMV. These emails will always show proof of submission highlighting THE DATE YOU COMPLETED THE COURSE, and will most often show the current status of your case with your court if your court provides access. Not all courts do.

After completing the course, you can expect to receive this email by the close of business Monday – Friday.

Be sure to look for these emails, especially if reading your emails isn’t something you do regularly. You may get a hundred emails a day, but ours is important. Sometimes they may go to your spam folder. Look there too.

If you noted at registration that you have a commercial driver’s license, we will also send you an email letting you know what to do AFTER completing traffic school.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU? 💲

Classroom / In-person instruction – Sign up for one of our in-person classes. Payment is due the day you come to class. We accept cash/check/debit/credit card. Online / Internet – You do this all by yourself at anytime, wherever you have an internet connection ($55).

One-on-one – ONLY available in our Ventura location. This one-on-one option can be completed in one day. Drink & snacks provided ($135).

Once you complete our course, we will notify your Court and the DMV. We will also send you a follow-up email confirming the submission, and direction on how to make sure your case gets closed.

We charge an additional $20 – $40 fee for: for any re-submissions of course completions; for having to contact the court on behalf of the student for any errors the student may have made, and for failure to submit the completed course resulting in a bail forfeiture.

WHAT IF I DON'T PASS THE TEST? 😩

If you do not pass the first test, then a second test will be offered that same day. If you do not pass the second test….Well, let’s think positively; you should have no problem passing the tests. They’re open book. But, on that rare occasion that the second test is not passed, you can either repeat the course with us, OR another school of your choosing. Trafficschoollist.com provides a good list of approved traffic schools to choose from.

I DON'T LIKE ENTERING MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION ONLINE. WHAT CAN I DO?

For those who are hesitant about entering their credit / debit card information online, you are welcome to come into the office to pay by cash or check. Once we get you registered, you’ll be able to return home with your username and password to complete the online course.

I HAVE A COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE. WHAT MUST I DO?

If you have a commercial driver’s license, you must call the DMV’s Mandatory Actions Unit at (916) 657-6525 (opt. 2) after completing the traffic school course. You can also email them at [email protected]. The best time to make this call is about a week after completing the course. Sometimes, it takes the court time to input traffic ticket information into the system.

Furthermore, the California Vehicle Code (§42005) states that drivers with a commercial driver’s license can only attend traffic school if they were not driving a commercial vehicle. Upon completion, the record of conviction will not be held confidential, but the conviction will not add a point count to the DMV record. Drivers with a commercial driver’s license are responsible for contacting the DMV’s Mandatory Actions Unit after completion of traffic school to insure that the DMV does not assess the point against their record.

DO YOU HAVE A FACEBOOK PAGE?

Yes, you can visit our Facebook page at Cross Road Ventura Traffic School Facebook page. We have short informational videos to help navigate the traffic ticket process.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR ATTENDING TRAFFIC SCHOOL? ⏳

Your due date will be shown on your court paperwork. However, the standard due date is approximately 6 weeks AFTER you have paid your court fees (that is the ticket PLUS the court’s administrative traffic school fee). If permitted, you can also request an extension. Contact your court for more information. Here is a list of California’s 58 traffic courts.

HOW DO I REQUEST A FREE COPY OF MY ACCIDENT REPORT?

You may rather choose to call LexisNexis if going online isn’t an option. Their number is 888-497-0011.

I HAVE AN OUT OF STATE TICKET. WHAT CAN I DO?

If permitted by your state’s court, you may complete our In-Person traffic school course to fulfill your traffic school obligation. You will need to let us know the information we will need in order to follow up with your state’s court.

HOW MANY TIMES CAN I ATTEND TRAFFIC SCHOOL?

California Vehicle Code Section 1808.7 mandates that only one citation in an eighteen (18) month period be masked from public view on your driving record.
